Making a Positive Difference in Client’s Lives
Jake is the trial lawyer for Albers Injury Law. Born into a working-class family in North St. Louis County, he is a proud graduate of Hazelwood Central High School. His father was a local 513 union operator for over 30 years and Jake is a first-generation college graduate. While in college, he worked as a laborer for a beer delivery company and as a bartender to pay the bills.
While in law school at Saint Louis University, Jake interned at the St. Clair State’s
Attorneys Office and the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s office. Once he graduated, he joined the Missouri Attorney General’s Office as an Assistant Attorney General and prosecuted individuals and corporations for defrauding consumers. He also served on the trial team that prosecuted several major pharmaceutical companies in their role in profiting from the state’s opioid epidemic. After leaving the Attorney General’s office, Jake joined a local non-profit organization
where he sued numerous large out of state corporate landlords who, despite being paid rent, refused to make repairs, and left their tenants living in dangerous and unlivable conditions.
While working for Albers Injury Law, Jake continues to make a positive difference in his client’s lives. Jake’s practice focuses on personal injury, wrongful death, construction accidents, catastrophic injury, slip & falls, and vehicle and truck accidents. Jake was selected as National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 for the state of Illinois. Jake’s favorite thing about the practice of
law is taking cases to trial and winning verdicts on behalf of his clients. Jake prepares every case for trial, only when a settlement offer is fair will he recommend his client accept it. Jake believes a jury decides the value of your case, not the insurance companies.
Outside of the office, Jake enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He is active in his parish and a commissioner on his town’s planning and zoning commission. He enjoys golfing, trout fishing, NASCAR races with his dad, and Saint Louis Billikens’ Basketball.
